No, because I'm a coward. I remember my mom doing so when I was very young, rememver it being peeled. But all the authentic good taquerias have it. I have a relationship with one, bet I could buy some cooked and sliced, rather than diced and mixed with salsa. Not sure what they cook it in.
Never had beef heart either, that I could do more easily. Mom must've used the old jiggler pressure cooker for the tongue.

board is taking about 20 seconds to display what I'm typing, I'm outta here.

About a million years ago I watched my grandmother do it. Nothing complicated, as I remember. Just a matter of simmering for a good while and then peeling it. The peeling, as Carla says, was pretty yucky. After cooling and slicing it was pretty taty. I have had it at delis once in a while. Delicious but very rich. To me, it needs mustard or horseradish for balance.

I hope to never be so hungry that that doesn't sound disgusting.
