Since Andy is in Athens...

How about Greek food?

One restaurant here in town has the best feta ever. Why do the others taste like chalk? Obviously, lack of butterfat, but why do people eat chalk when they could be eating silk?

Lack of access to the good stuff, I'm afraid. Here in northern DE, we've had a couple of places that sold imported Mediterranean products (cheeses, olives, olive oils, etc.), but when they closed, nothing came in to fill the void. I've asked Greek friends, but they are younger & either don't cook or go to Philadelphia to get the good stuff. Yes, there is online, but if you don't know what brand to order, you might as well go to the megamart. One local ray of hope is a new Mediterranean restaurant, the Olive Tree. The owner is Moroccan who cut his restaurant chops in the south of France, & his menu is Moroccan, Greek, Turkish & other Mediterranean cuisines. He goes home several times a year & brings back wonderful products for the restaurant. I will have to try his Metsovo (spinach & feta pie) on my next visit.

How close are you to Baltimore, Butterbean? There is a Greektown there. Ikaros is a wonderful Greek restaurant patronized by the famous Kinsley.

Very close, but don't get there very often. When I have, it has involved crabs and Kinsley and other briners.

I've read that Bulgarian feta is very good.

and not to buy American feta.
Resistance isn't about damaging the country, but protecting it.
