Initial Tests:

Weight - 228#

Pushups - 13
Situps (Crunches) - 35
Squats - 41

Week 1 Workouts:

Tier 3
Pushups:
Day 1 - 10,12,7,7,9 - 45 total - very tough first day, especially the 12 and the final "max"
Day 2 - 10,12,8,8,12 - 50 total - again a very tough workout! JUUUUUUST barely eeked out the last 12
Day 3 - 11,15,9,9,13 - 57 total - had to really get myself psyched up to knock out the 15, and the final 13 was a serious struggle, too, but made it through
Week Total - 152

Tier 3
Situps -
Day 1 - 15,18,10,10,16 - 69 total - technically, having started with 35 on my initial test, i could have started the program on week 3, but nah. might as well do 'em all together. today's workout went well.
Day 2 - 15,18,15,15,20 - 83 total - i actually did a few more on the max at the end, but forgot how many. pretty easy again
Day 3 - 17,22,14,14,20 - 87 total - slowed em down a bit for this workout, and really felt the burn!
Week Total - 239

Tier 3
Squats -
Day 1 - 13,16,9,9,20 - 67 total - again, i could have started on week 3. this workout also went fairly easily.
Day 2 - 13,16,13,13,20 - 75 total - nothin' to it!
Day 3 - 15,20,13,13,18 - 79 total - cakewalk.
Week Total - 221
Notes: a good, hard first week. i really had to force myself to take time from my tired wife and crying baby to get these workouts done, but i managed to squeeze em in at odd hours. i was tempted to do some at 2:30 am at the end of the week since, well, i was up anyway! Next week will surely be a challenge.

i'm surprised as hell that i managed to get in wednesday's workouts, as my brain is pretty much mush from bringing home the new baby, and the two previous sleepless nights.

i should have done day 3's today, but i'll do them in the morning before my shower to get my saturday off to a good start.

Weight - #223

Week 2 Workouts:

Tier 3
Pushups:
Day 1 - 14,14,9,8,11 - 56 total - DAMN, that was hard. didn't quite make the quotas for the last three rounds, even with up to a full extra minute of rest time between sets.
Day 2 - 14,16,12,8,6 - 56 total - made it through three of the 5 rounds this time, but again, DAMN.
Day 3 - 16,17,14,14,16 - 77 total - i was surprised to finally find the energy to even pull off the first four sets. i'm actually impressed with myself that i could finish.
Week Total - 189
Grand Total - 341

Tier 3
Situps -
Day 1 - 21,21,15,15,25 - 97 total - again, easy enough. i added three to the final number needed to make myself feel better about the pushups.
Day 2 - 21,24,18,18,26 - 107 total - easy enough.
Day 3 - 24,25,21,21,30 - 121 total
Week Total - 325
Grand Total - 564

Tier 3
Squats -
Day 1 - 19,19,13,13,21 - 85 total - as long as i take it slow, this one is easy as well. threw in one bonus squat at the end for good measure.
Day 2 - 19,22,16,16,23 - 96 total - actually, the slower i go, the harder it is. go figure.
Day 3 - 22,22,19,19,27 - 109 total
Week Total - 290
Grand Total - 511

Notes: First full week at home with the new baby. He doesn't like flat surfaces, and doesn't sleep well when not in someone's arms. My lady and I have been living off of occasional 45 minute naps, and that has really taken its toll on our energy level and mental states. I've already corrected 30 typos on this sentence alone, cuz i'm too tired to type right. For the third day's workouts, I did them all as a circuit. Resting only long enough to set up the next exercise, i went from set one of pushups, to situps, and straight to squats, and then rested for one minute before taking on set two, which i rested 90 seconds before set 3, then 120 seconds rest, and so on, resting 3 minutes before the final max set. i dont know if this is technically allowed, but it helped me get through it, and i'm sure sped it all up a bit. i'll take it!

End of Week 2 Progress Test

19 pushups
44 situps
31 squats

i wonder if i hurt myself on the latter tests by doing all 3 progressively?

Week 3 Workouts:

Tier 1
Pushups:
Day 1 - 10,12,7,7,10 - 46 total
Day 2 - 10,12,8,8,12 - 50 total
Day 3 - 11,13,9,9,13 - 55 total - still just barely eeked em out. this is a hard program for a 220#+ guy. i'm top heavy!
Week Total - 151
Grand Total - 492

Tier 3
Situps -
Day 1 - 21,27,21,21,35 - 125 total
Day 2 - 30,38,23,23,40 - 154 total

Tier 2
Squats -

Day 2 - 19,25,19,19,25 - 107 total
Day 3 - 22,29,20,21,30 - 122 total
Week Total - 323
Grand Total - 834

Notes: I'm pretty sure i'll be repeating this week on situps and definitely on pushups. from what i recall the last time i tried this challenge, i couldn't manage a new week if i couldn't handle the third column of the current week.

Week 4

Weight - 220

Week 4 Workouts:

Tier 1
Pushups:
Day 1 - 12,14,11,10,16 - 63 total
Day 2 - 14,16,12,10,10 - 62 total - not quite full sets at the end...bummer
Day 3 - 18 - tired to do the workout, but simply couldn't. waited 24 hours, then tried a max set, and this is what i got.
Week Total - 143
Grand Total - 635

Tier 3
Situps -
Day 1 - 32,38,32,32,48 - 182 total
Day 2 - 38,45,38,38,39 - 198 total - just two shy of "technically" completing 200 situps!
Day 3 - 45, 25, then FAIL - just couldn't manage another one. maybe doing these workouts together is simply a bad idea?
Week Total - 450
Grand Total - 1473

Tier 2
Squats -
Day 1 - 24,30,22,22,34 - 132 total
Day 2 - 27,34,27,27,38 - 153 total - these are getting very hard, especially when i go slow enough to really focus on form.
Day 3 - 31,38,31,31,45 - 175 total - this workout i did first, and actually completed, but damn if it wasn't hard
Week Total - 460
Grand Total - 1294

Notes: week 4 is WEARING...ME...OUT...
in fact, here at the end of week 4, it DID wear me out. i didn't make it through all the workouts, and that sux. i suppose i can move on with the squats program to week 5, but the other two will hold me back. honestly, while this program is designed to help you get to 100,200,and 200 "consecutive) reps, i'd be content to complete the prescribed amounts of reps at all, within about 15 minutes each. i'm almost there on the squats.

nearly the last day of week 5, and i've accomplished zero full workouts. i can cite at least a dozen reasons why i dont have the energy for these this week, but the primary concern is a raging pain in my lower right back muscles that SURELY have something to do with lots of squats and situps.

sometime this weekend i'll try to do a max set of each exercise, and go again monday.

i guess today would be the middle of week 7, and i consider this experiment/challenge a complete failure.
