and consider what someone can do with photoshop to a picture.

These are two other good reasons why someone might not want to post a picture of themselves online.

^^^ My guess is in this photo you are...

(a) Watching guys line up for pictures with "Catwoman" at a comics convention.
(b) Attending a Sandra Lee cooking demo.
(c) Reading one of Norm's drunk-posts.

I hope you'll rethink that decision. Scenery is very nice, but I'd rather see pictures of fellow briners than a half-eaten sammich any day. If some of our friends prefer not to have their pictures posted, they could tell the photographer at the time (or later, if necessary).

Generally, in matters of privileged information, I would err on the caution with the assumption that a friend would not ask for such a thing without good reason and that as a friend, I perhaps do not need to know that reason. I only have to have a little faith that the request isn't meaningless.

That is a good point, Pari. I recall that our friend & former briner, Lee, did not want her picture posted, and with the exception of a few shots before her preference was known (& now long gone), that request was not only honored, but the reason for it was not questioned. I don't see why any other briner's request is any different.
