Well, I've appreciated seeing all your smiling faces so I guess I'll take the plunge and post a couple pix.

Believe it or not, it was only recently that I noticed how very similar these two photos are. Of course, I always knew I had a pair of AB-and-me pix (both taken by Alton himself) but it wasn't until I put them side by side that I saw how uncannily alike they really are.

ImageImage
March 10, 2007 - Crate & Barrel, Chicago...................................................................May 16, 2008 - Monterey Bay Aquarium

Besides the obvious differences (location, clothing, image quality), the two main differences are that in the second photograph Alton's expression seems significantly less aloof and I'm wearing heals.

But once the similarities caught my eye, I couldn't stop staring at the two images and finding more bizarre coincidences. Take, for example, the two seemingly different backgrounds. If you look at them "in the abstract," an irregular pattern emerges of slightly angled, vertical and horizontal, lines and bars/light and shadow. Check out how in both photographs, a slightly angled horizontal line connects at the same point on AB's ear AND how a slightly angled vertical bar connects at the same point on AB's shoulder. And, I believe, had I not been wearing heals in the second picture, that slightly angled line connecting at my temple would have been higher up -- at about the same point as the slightly angled line in the first picture. As proof I offer the height difference of that little sliver of me you see through Alton's glasses.

Of course our wardrobe is completely different . . . except for those narrow stripes running down AB's left shoulder and that black strip on my right shoulder (blouse design in the first/purse strap in the second).

The fact that my bangs have that unattractive split in the middle is not that big of a coincidence. I usually run my fingers through my bangs before I get my picture taken to avoid just such an occurrence -- I must have forgotten . . . both times . . . coincidentally.
