So jealous.

Life just won't let me do what the heck I wanna.

Meh. I'm really glad the event was so successful. It looks like we may have a summer and a winter destination event from here on out.

Someday...

Great pictures, all. Thanks for sharing. NOW SEND ME SOME BBQ!!

Arrived home earlier today, and will post pictures later if they're still viable on my camera (something about a munchkin pushing buttons and saying "YAY I DID IT! from the back seat has me a little concerned :) )

Just want to reiterated (for the umpteenth time) what a great turnout, food and hospitality provided for and to the briners. I was so happy to finally be able to meet folks, and even though I wasn't able to be as sociable as I would like on Sunday, I am glad I at least got to partake in some of the fun and eat some amazing Q.

El mucho gracias to the Slam's and Pixie families for many many reasons beyond the food for hosting Bebe and I this weekend.

Ahhhh, just woke up from the first post-vacation night in my own bed - wonderful.

Just wanted to thank the Pixies and Slams for wonderful hospitality and wonderful main course, and everyone for awesome sides, beverages, conversation and good times. We had a great time (illness notwithstanding)!

Oh, and if any of you like catfish, and get a chance to go to Holly's restaurant, seriously? GET THE CATFISH.

Got home from Charlotte yesterday afternoon, & am still decompressing. I took a few non-memorable photos & will post them once I find the cable to do so. The entire weekend was wonderful, but special thanks are due to Pixie, Slam & GWilson for their extraordinary efforts in organizing & making things come together. The food & the hospitality were amazing, and Greg's tours were terrific; he deserves the Herding Housecats medal for 2009. It was wonderful to see old friends and to meet in person so many great folks for the first time. Thanks to all for the memories! :D

And I'll apologize for leaving Monday morning before everyone rolled
out for breakfast. It was already past my departure time and was
a bit concerned about Hartsfield/ATL airport issues. All turned out ok.

I look forward to the next get together.

I'll just echo all the other comments that it was a fantastic weekend and great to see some old friends again, meet some old friends for the first time and meet new friends.

Pictures will come this weekend - have to rebuild my computer before I can get to downloading/editing.

Thank you all for the narratives and pics for those of us unable to attend. Come on and tell us some stories now, about karaoke nite, what were the sides served, what all did you all do? We need more info.

So glad someone got a pic of The Knife, which was awesome.

Another meat question for Slam; Isn't pastrami smoked corned beef? And if so, you made pastrami! And if not, it was still one of the most delicious meats I've ever tasted.

Monday - Memorial Day - The day after the BBQ - the day a lot of us went home

My rental car (I traveled all the way to GA so I could have a car with FL plates. I liked the color - it made it easy to find in the parking lot. Being equipped with Sirius/XM made me a very happy camper.)

Susiepins will be visiting from England for a week starting Labor Day weekend. I'm pondering a meet, not on the scale of the ATL gathering, but a chance for us to show her what Briners are like in real life ...

I don't understand what's got your panties in a bunch.
It was simple question. Mr. Dunkpro just hosted a gathering in Atlanta.
You have previously hosted events in Houston, after you moved to NC.
In a few weeks you are hosting an event in Charlotte.

I hadn't previously heard about Susiepins visit. If she's coming to Gastonia,
then it's a fine place for us to gather, but I didn't think there was any
reason to assume that was the location. :?

Jeezuss, do I have to apologize for wanting to eat dinner before coming to watch you sing too?

If I may interject, I was also of the opinion (possibly due to the particular smiley you used) that you weren't questioning the location itself, rather, questioning the choice of location. In other words, I thought you were trying to say "isn't there somewhere better than Gastonia," rather than "will the gathering be in Gastonia?" Honest mistake. I obviously can't speak for him, but I'm guessing that's how Mongo interpreted it as well.
