Starbucks-ish Doubleshot on Ice

Postby nolafoodie » Mon Jun 09, 2008 4:15 pm

Starbucks now sells a new drink they call "Doubleshot on Ice." It's pretty good, but why not make it at home? Here's how.

1. Put about a cup and a half worth of ice cubes into a cocktail shaker (or if you don't have a cocktail shaker, just do what I do and use two plastic tumblers of different sizes to create a makeshift shaker). Add 1-2 oz. of your favorite syrup (or just simple syrup, if you're not into flavors).

2. Pull a double espresso and pour it into shaker with ice. Shake vigorously -- about 10 shakes. Pour into serving glass/tumbler (16-oz glass works well). Mixture should be very foamy.

3. Top with a couple splashes of milk (about 1/2 cup will do -- I like to add enough milk to fill the 16-oz. glass). Milk should remain suspended atop coffee/syrup mixture, though it may not work as well if you use sugar-free syrup.

Enjoy!
