Too much campaigning

Postby tj » Fri Aug 21, 2015 10:11 am

Just wondering if anyone else might go along with my notion that we should set a limit on the length of political campaigns. How about four or five months to make your case for wanting to be president instead of the present constant campaign? I have a feeling that I'll be so sick of it all by next fall that I might vote for Mickey Mouse.

Our whole political system is ridiculous. The original intention was that people would serve 2 or 4 years in congress or wherever and then go back to their real lives and jobs, there were supposed to be career politicians. It was supposed to be kind of like jury duty, put in your 2 years and move on. People also didn't run for posts, names were drawn. We should try that for awhile.
