The latest Gooey Butter Cake Tested: Maple Bacon

Not gonna be for everyone, but it got good reviews, only people who didn't care for it were the few unAmericans in the group that don't like either bacon or maple...

The Base:
1 Yellow Cake Mix (I hear Bacon & Chocolate work, so you could try a chocolate mix)
2 oz melted butter
2 oz Bacon Fat (From the bacon prepped for the next part)
1 Egg

The Filling:
1 lb bacon.
1 lb powdered sugar
8 oz Cream Cheese
2 Eggs
2 oz melted Butter
2 oz Bacon Fat
1/2 tsp Maple Flavoring (You could use Maple Syrup, but my budget can't support it, so I can't tell you if/how to alter it).

Cook the bacon until crispy, drain off the bacon fat, and reserve 4 oz of the liquid gold. Crumble the bacon and set aside.

In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, 2 oz of bacon fat and 2 oz of butter and egg, mix until well combined.
Press this in to the bottom of a 9x13 pan.

In the same bowl, beat cream cheese, 2oz of Bacon fat and 2 oz of butter, 2 eggs and maple flavor. Beat until smooth.
Add the powdered sugar and beat until well incorporated. Fold in the crumbled bacon.

Pour cream cheese mixture over the cake base and bake at 350 for about 45 minutes. Cake will not be set solid. Remove and allow to cool, cut and enjoy.

I'm contemplating putting bacon in the cake base,or making the ever popular bacon mat and laying it over the base.. Not sure tho,
