Alton Brown often brines pork/ham/turkey in a ice chest/cooler or a 5 gallon (igloo) beverage cooler. What I need to know is, if I use my (plastic) beverage cooler to brine raw meat can I continue to use this device as a beverage cooler? or is it contaminated forever?

Yep, I use both of my coolers for brining and for drinks all the time. Just make sure you rinse them out will with soap and water after a brine session.

My question is why does Good Eats seem to be falling off of Food Networks schedule? Are AB and FN parting ways? Is the show going to be cancelled? Good Eats is really the only reason I watch Food Network, that and the occasional clip of Giada ;) I don't really care what she's cooking :)
