I guess this one is especially for parents, students, and teachers, but when do you or yours start school?

My daughter took a summer session class that finished last week but her full time classes start August 27th.

I have one class tomorrow (so lame, I go to school M-F, but just one class on Tuesdays! Why?!?) and all day Wednesday through Friday. I guess we start early here in NorCal.

Aug. 27th. (Mini-Vick #1 will be a SENIOR in High School!! #2 will be in 10th grade)

Where I live, it's very mountainous...so starting early makes allowances for snow-days. This past year we had very few snow-days, so they were done June 1st.

School starts Monday, August 27.

Marching band started August 6th here. Their two-a-days were 8-12 and 1-4. Then 1-4 and 5:30-8:30. Marching band IS intense. :D

The little man starts back Wednesday, but I've been working for a week now on PTA stuff for the back to school events. Second grade now. Where does the time go?

Our daughters started 8/15 for a half day, and then regular schedule. They're both in high school now so they get to car pool!

Our older daughter is homeschooled, and was supposed to start last week; she was very sick all week though, so we delayed and she starts today (one of the advantages of homeschooling). Our younger daughter starts preschool next week (Wednesday), and is very excited about it.

The Boy Wonder started high school (9th grade) this morning.

I like his school starting the year early because he's done at the end of May. It's a great time to take vacation since most everyone else is still in school.

Ya know, I've been out of school for 35 years and I still miss going shopping for school supplies and new clothes. Still miss having summer vacation, too. *sigh

Sounds nice. Alaric started marching band practice the week before school got OUT last year, and had practice every Tuesday and Thursday through the end of July. All day marching band camp started July 30.

Yuck! Hard to have a vacation with that schedule.
My son did have what they called "Summer Band 1" the week after school was out, but not much else except ordering t-shirts & shoes & socks & gloves until August 4, when they had uniform check-out.
