QOTD 1/31: Super Munchies

What's on your Super Bowl Sunday menu? If you're not watching the game, what WOULD be on your menu if you were?

I have absolutely zero interest in the Super Bowl.

But I am working on our menu for the Super Bowl of movies - Oscar night.

Right now, all I'm sure about is:
Hush puppies (Beasts of the Southern Wilds)
Zero Dark Chocolate Mousse (Zero Dark Thirty)

I'm bringing turkey chili to the Super Bowl party.

This is the first year in many I've even cared about the Super Bowl, and there's zero interest in the household outside of meself. But in the spirit of the day, I might make baked wings with a Thai peanut sauce.

We are going to a Super Bowl party. Samantha is making her famous meatballs and I am making steak and cheese taquitos.

What's a "Super Bowl?"

We hold out for the Daytona 500, I'll be laying in Nachos Grande, popcorn and assorted other munchies for the event. I've a few things pinned on my Pinterest boards that I want to give a try.

We're off to a superbowl party at a friend's. I'm cooking a case of ribs.

Never seen it, never been to a party for it. The only thing we tend to have consistantly at that type of party is sausage/chili/velveeta dip. That is some good stuff.

NO interrest in game... except maybe trying to catch a few good ads. Have had a few SB's that came shortly after snow storms. Crazy/Good neighbor took care of all the snow with his "toy" (snow blower) and flat out REFUSED any $$ for the GREAT favor. Knew he was having all his buds over for the game. One year made MY version of Muffalettas... olive salad, lots of layered meats and cheeses, pressed well. Another year, they became total "guinea pigs" when I made "Taco Bread"... taco meat & lots of cheese, rolled up in dough. Both disappeared in no time.

I think, chairlady, that Super Bowl viewers will eat most anything painted in broad strokes and provided in quantity.

Chili powder, tomatoes, meat and bread seem to be common threads in the dishes and hot cheesy, peppery dips are also liked. As long as there is enough beer, they will probably eat floor sweepings.

I figure it is an ideal time to puree leftover vegetables and camouflage them in the bean-loaded chili. That way the next time someone objects to parsnips you can say, "Well, you liked them the last time we had them."

We are going to a party at a local sushi place that will be empty of "regular customers," so a friend who sometimes is a server there is inviting lots of people to have a party. They're making us lots of special sushi.

I HATE, yes hate, foot ball. I will, however, be going to a party Sunday to visit with people so I am bringing desserts. Shocking, I know.

I'll be making today:
Brownies with a Dark Chocolate Orange ganache
Chocolate and Peanut Butter Cupcakes
Chocolate Chip0Coconut-Oatmeal Cookies

I'm sort of into chocolate these days, does it show?

5 Cheese & Chorizo stuffed Jalapeno's

Did I mention we're having wings?

Even though neither of my teams made it this year, I'll be rooting for THE RAVENS!
